Identification and functional analysis of associated bacteria and fungi of Euzophera pyriella

  • Objective Study on the species or groups of associated bacteria and fungi of Euzophera pyriella Yang in pear orchards, and analyze their functions to provide reference for the damage mechanism and comprehensive prevention and control of E. pyriella in pear orchards.
    Methods Various developmental stages of the E. pyriella were collected in different orchards in Korla. Through indoor isolation, cultivation and molecular identification, as well as high-throughput sequencing technology, the species of associated fungi and bacteria were identified and their functions were annotated.
    Results The associated fungi and bacteria of E. pyriella included 18 species of fungi and 23 species of bacteria. The associated fungi and bacteria included plant pathogens and insect pathogens. The plant pathogens included Acremonium alternatum Station (10.9%), Torulaspora delbrueckii Station (10.1%), Meyerozyma caribbica Station (9.3%), Aspergillus flavus Station (5.4%), Micrococcus luteus Station (3.5%), Cladosporium limoniforme Station (3.9%), Alternaria eichhorniae Station (2.3%), Alternaria brassicicola Station (1.6%), Acremonium sclerotigenum Station (1.6%), Erwinia amylovora Station (0.9%) and Pantoea ananatis Station (0.8%). Insect pathogens included Enterobacter cancerogenus Station (7.4%) and Aspergillus fumigatus Station (4.7%).
    Conclusion E. pyriella was associated by multiple plant pathogens in pear orchards, which coinfected pear trees. E. amylovora was the pathogen of Fire blight which was the major disease of pear tree. Therefore, it was necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of E. amylovora and Fire blight in the pear orchard to prevent the spread of Fire blight. And insect pathogens could be further studied and utilized.
